After following the construction progress over the past 12 months it was time to visit the Piggery Cafe at Burnham Beeches. We arrived around 11am and were seated on a large 8 person table complete with it’s own toaster. Breakfast is served till 11.30am and we found this to be a quiet time – perfect for coffee and cake. With plenty of natural light renovations have been kept to a minimum thus keeping the industrial farmhouse atmosphere. Shannon and his team are embracing the use of eco friendly dinnerware, and have upcycled wine bottles into water glasses. Prices are reasonable, breakfast $10 – $20 per person, coffee and cakes for 2 under $30, the coffee was great. We chatted on the way out with Danielle, the cafes very friendly Supervisor whilst the lunchtime rush of customers was coming in. The bakery next door operates daily, the brewery is a work in progress and the bowling & croquet greens are coming along nicely. Both Ian and I are looking forward to returning again soon to try out more cake.
