I aM Adventurous

Cloudhill Gardens and Nursery Olinda

With the end of our 4 week Semester break looming I felt the need to get out into nature and just “be”. It was too late in the day to grab our hike packs for real adventure, and as we’d only driven past last week we decided on Cloudhill Gardens in Olinda. The Dandenong Ranges are beautiful any time of the year. Today was no exception with fog and rain expected. Ian and I stopped for coffee and cake at the cafe, a treat we rarely skip (energy food, well that’s what I tell myself). Into the garden we traveled, I’ve been here several times before and am always in awe of it’s secret garden rooms. And I love the gates, decorative wrought iron. Although not as colourful as usual we were the only ones there. Lots of photos were taken with no other people in the way. Weekdays are the ideal time to visit, especially when it’s chilly. Ian was a little disappointed with the lack of colour but for me the art all around is enough. I’m looking forward to Spring.
